You Shall Love the Lord

A scribe once asked Jesus, "What's the first, the greatest, commandment of all?" Jesus answered by saying, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and soul, and mind, and strength."

A consideration of these words is our theme on the Wednesdays of Lent.

Discussions of the recent history of the culture and people who make up one fifth of the human race and why it matters to the western world. The challenges faced by the Lutheran missionaries, past and present, will also be discussed.

February 12th
Dragon Rising - continuation of history including the Great Leap Forward, the Cultural Revolution, the opening of China to US relations, the Democracy Movement, and continuing to present day Chinese politics and the rise of China as a major world economic power.

February19th
Elisa Tvete presents information about her recent trip to China from the unique perspective of a young adult.
